Drive 45 km south of Addis Ababa through scenic countryside to arrive in DebreZeit and visit the crater lakes of Hora and Bishoftu where many species of birds can be seen. You will enjoy a short boat trip on Lake Hora before returning to Addis Ababa at noon.

Sodere, 126 southeast of Addis Ababa is well known for its hot spring. On the way, stop over at DebreZeit to have a boat trip on Lake Hora, with an opportunity of bird watching. Pass by Nazreith to reach Sodere, where you can enjoy the hot spring water and the open air swimming pool. Return to Addis Ababa in late afternoon.

Drive 115 km along the western road from Addis Ababa, crossing fertile land to arrive at Woliso. After lunch, you can swim or take a bath in the hot spring of Woliso, believed to be a curing spa against some illnesses. Over night –Addis

Drive 62 km from Addis via Butajira road to visit the Paleontological site of Melka Kunture, which is nearly 2 million years old. A few km further south from Melka Kunture visit the rock hewn church of Adadi Mariam built in 13th century and Tiya situated 88kms south of Addis Ababa. It is particularly rich in anthropomorphic monoliths. The 36 steles, which were probably believed to be tomb stones, are still standing. Thirty one of these steles have art works. The highest of them measures 3.70 meters. UNESCO has declared Tiya as a world heritage.

Menagesha is located 35 km west of Addis Ababa. On the way to Menagesha, visit Gefersa water supply reservoir and its many birds including the Blue Winged Goose the Black Headed Siskin, Rouget’s Rail, etc. Walk through the Forest of Menagesha Mountain, which is covered with different types of trees like "Tid" (Giant Juniper), "Zigba" (Podocarpus Gracilior) and "Kosso" (Hyginea Abyssinca) some of which are over 400 years old. Drive back and arrive in Addis Ababa at noon.

Program:Ambo and Wonchi Crater Lake Code: E1012 Duration: Full Day Transportation: Land (Suitable buses)

Drive from Addis to wonchi Crater Lake. En route, visit Lake Gefersa and Addis Alem Church built during the reign of MenelikII. Arrive at town Ambo, (125 km west of Addis) for lunch, and drive to Wonchi, 33km from south of Ambo on the left side to Wolisso. Visit the unique Crater Lake – Wonchi! Its magnificent landscapes, the volcanic Hot springs, surrounded by shady trees are enjoyable.
The lake lies in between a unique and irregular shaped basin surrounded by chain circular height covered by greenish Alpine vegetation. There is a small monastery church called Saint Kirkos on the island. Afternoon, drive back to Addis Ababa

Pass through the industrial area, south of Addis and continue driving to DebreZeit. Visit the crater lake of Bishoftu and then proceed to Lake Hora for a boat trip. After lunch, drive to Mount Ziqualla with its crater lake and monastery to find a stupendous panoramic view of the Rift Valley to the east, Mount Entoto and Addis Ababa to the north. Afternoon, drive back to Addis Ababa.

Drive west of Addis to arrive at Suba, the nearest forest park of the capital city. A walk through the forest and picnic is enjoyable. After lunch, drive to Addis Alem to visit the church of the Saint Mary with its beautiful paintings. The church was built during the reign of MenelikII. Afternoon, drive back to Addis Ababa.
